The Turner African American Services Council (TAASC), part of Michigan Medicine’s Community Health Services, has been serving Washtenaw County for over 25 years. TAASC was created to identify and address the health, social, and emotional needs of underserved and vulnerable older adults of color, many of whom face systemic barriers to accessing quality care and support.
TAASC is the only program in the region that focuses specifically on this population, offering culturally responsive services and advocating for equity in aging. Through a variety of programs and events, TAASC raises awareness of issues that disproportionately affect older adults of color, including chronic health conditions, social isolation, and economic insecurity.
The council works to connect individuals with community resources that improve quality of life whether through health education, wellness activities, or social support. TAASC envisions a community where all older adults of color can experience improved healthcare access, meaningful engagement, and optimal wellbeing.
Your support this Giving Blue Day helps TAASC continue its mission to uplift and empower. Every gift contributes to breaking down barriers and building a future where aging is met with dignity, respect, and opportunity.
Please make your gift today to support TAASC’s vital work. Together, we can create lasting change for our most marginalized older adults.
