About

At the Mary H. Weiser Food Allergy Center, a novel study is enlisting babies before they are born.

More than 100 families have already enrolled in the Michigan Siblings Immunity Birth Study (M-SIBS), which aims to decipher why some siblings develop food allergy while others do not.

M-SIBS will follow newborns and their relatives for three years, studying biological samples at the genetic level, as well as environmental samples obtained at home visits.

The study is open to infants delivered at Michigan Medicine, depending on family health history. For more information, visit M-SIBS.org.

We need your support this Giving Blueday to help fund this study and deepen our understanding of how allergies develop.
