Ann Arbor Meals on Wheels (AAMOW) is a program of the U-M Health Department of Community Health Services and dedicated to meeting the nutritional needs of homebound individuals in our community. AAMOW volunteers and staff tackle hunger and food insecurity for those who are unable to shop for and prepare complete, nutritious meals for themselves due to their health.
On top of providing nutritional support, we offer other services to our clients including wellness checks with each delivery that are done by our dedicated staff and volunteers. Social isolation is real and prevalent, making our meal delivery the only interaction a client may have in a day. These wellness checks remind our community members that someone cares about them.
For many of our clients, Ann Arbor Meals on Wheels is a lifeline.
To accommodate all our clients, we offer multiple meal options based on dietary and cultural needs including gluten-free meals, Asian cuisine, and liquid meal supplements for those at nutritional risk. We also provide household items and toiletries, cards of encouragement, seasonal plants, and pet food through a partnership with the Human Society of Huron Valley — all free of charge.
Please make your gift today to support the life-changing services that Ann Arbor Meals on Wheels provides our community. Join us in our commitment to serving our aging neighbors with nutritious meals, human connection, and additional services so they can age in place safely and with dignity. Your support makes a difference. Thank you!
