NICOLAUS COPERNICUS ENDOWMENT - 707540
The Nicolaus Copernicus Endowment at the Copernicus Center for Polish Studies (CCPS) supports faculty appointments, student fellowships, and public events dedicated to advancing a deeper understanding of the people, culture, and politics of Poland.
2023 marked the 50th anniversary of Polish studies at the University of Michigan, and there is much to celebrate; for half a century, the Copernicus Endowment has been sustained by the vitality and financial assistance of hundreds of individual supporters. Funding from the Endowment enables faculty appointments and provides student fellowships in Polish studies, as well as outstanding public programming. It was in recognition of its multiple contributions to our students and the U-M community that the Endowment was elevated by the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts to a program in 2014, and designated as a full-fledged center in 2019.
Contributions will be added to an existing endowed fund, and distributions from the Fund will be made in accordance with the University’s then existing endowment distribution policy and used and administered as provided in the documents establishing the Fund.
The Regents of the University of Michigan has 501(c)(3) non-profit tax-exempt status. Federal tax ID number: 38-6006309
