This Giving Blueday, help power the next generation of research at IRWG—with your gift doubled.
For 30 years, the Institute for Research on Women & Gender (IRWG) has supported groundbreaking research on women, gender, and sexuality at the University of Michigan. We mark this milestone at a moment when the contributions of scholars working on gender, sexuality, and power are too often minimized—making support for innovative, rigorous research as critical now as it was when IRWG was founded.
At the heart of this work are IRWG’s faculty seed grants. Established in 1996, this program provides early-stage funding for faculty projects across the humanities, social sciences, sciences, and arts. These grants make it possible for researchers to pursue bold new ideas, launch interdisciplinary collaborations, and integrate gender analysis into existing work—often at pivotal moments in their scholarly trajectories.
This Giving Blueday, we’re inviting you to invest in that impact. To amplify community support, IRWG will match all donations dollar for dollar, up to a total of $5,000. Every gift helps us reach our goal faster and directly strengthens the seed grant program that has sustained three decades of transformative scholarship.
There’s also a powerful opportunity to extend your impact beyond Giving Blueday. The university is currently matching monthly recurring gifts—dollar for dollar—up to $100 each month for the first 12 months. That means:
- A $10 monthly gift becomes $20 each month
- A $50 monthly gift provides $100 of support each month
- A $100 monthly gift doubles to $200 in impact, month after month
Together, these matched gifts, both one-time and recurring, help ensure that IRWG can continue serving as a central community for scholars and a catalyst for research that shapes understanding far beyond campus. Join us this Giving Blueday and help ensure that groundbreaking research continues to flourish at Michigan for decades to come.
