Michigan Chemical Engineering is a top 10 ranked department dedicated to serving the common good, harnessing innovative research and educating globally minded engineers whose empathy and creative analytical thinking turn ideas into equitable solutions for today’s biggest challenges. Gifts to the Chemical Engineering Impact Fund on Giving Blueday will be matched dollar for dollar up to $3,000, thanks to a generous match provided by ChE alumnus Steve Hartig (BSE CHE '80).
This Giving Blueday, we are raising money for our growing undergraduate program. This year specifically, our senior labs need your help. We are fortunate to have a significant increase in the number of chemical engineering students over the last few years, but this puts a strain on the labs and laboratory equipment.
These labs prepare seniors for their careers by giving them hands-on experience needed to anticipate industry challenges and translate their academic knowledge to practical applications. Our short term needs include:
Fermentor/Bioreactor ~$20k (Expansion of Fermentation from Bioethanol Experiment)
Smaller Equipment ~$5-10K
- Temperature control lab donation (for Controls course)
- Shaker incubator (for Bioethanol experiment)
- Distillation column repair
By supporting Michigan Chemical Engineering, you fuel world-changing research and the next generation of leaders who carry these advances forward—impacting lives in Michigan and beyond. Be a part of honoring the past and shaping the future for our ChE community with a gift today! Thank you, and Go Blue!
