What is the Center for Educational Outreach?
CEO serves as the U-M K-12 Outreach Hub, which is dedicated to increasing Michigan students' access to college. CEO is committed to informing, engaging, and inspiring a new generation of diverse scholars from rural, urban, first-generation, and limited-income communities. CEO leads coordinated university-wide initiatives to significantly enhance the capacity and effectiveness of U-M faculty, staff, and student organizations engaged in educational outreach. CEO recently celebrated their 15 Year anniversary. Check out their celebration book here.
Examples of the impact of your Giving Blueday gift:
- $5 = U-M beanie for visiting students during the winter months to keep them warm
- $20 = Lunch in a U-M dining hall for a visiting student from a Michigan high school with a 50% or more free/reduced lunch population
- $50 = Full day professional training for a Michigan high school college adviser (breakfast, lunch, speaker, materials, parking)
- $100 = Brings a U-M faculty or staff to a Michigan high school to share their educational journey story and provides exposure to a new career field for students
- $150 = Campus Visit for a student to interact with the U-M community through a campus tour by U-M students, a U-M student panel, U-M staff resource presentations, and U-M faculty lectures
- $250 = Decision Day celebration activities at a MCAC high school
- $500 = Summer scholarship to a U-M summer pre-college program
