For many families, the cost of Michigan’s summer programs present a barrier. The Watson A. Young Summer Program Scholarship covers expenses for select high school students, turning dreams into reality. The Center for Educational Outreach (CEO) provides tuition support to pre-college programs. This Giving Blueday, we aim to raise $5,000 to fund two students’ attendance at a summer U-M Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) program. These programs offer a taste of college coursework and pre-professional networking.
One former student said, “In the Portfolio Prep pre-college program at U-M, I discovered how the right medium channels personal passions into powerful art. That program inspired my AP Art project and cemented my decision to apply to the Penny Stamps School of Art & Design.”
