The GRIP Lab’s pursuit to build The LessonSketch Workshop depends on the financial generosity of alumni, friends, and stakeholders. This workshop will organize the services for research and teaching that are part of the LessonSketch way of working. LessonSketch refers to a way of doing research and professional development using representations of professional practice that has been widely documented in the education literature. It includes software tools developed by the GRIP such as Anotemos and LessonDepict, a library of materials available to be used in teacher education and research (animations, storyboards, research instruments, coursework), and consultation services we provide to individuals who want to develop their own materials. We aim to raise $5,000 which will help develop The LessonSketch Workshop as a one-stop website where interested parties will be able to access the tools and materials they need. "LessonDepict has been an indispensable tool in my work as an educational researcher…This ability [to use LessonDepict] to tell possible classroom stories and to present [research participants] with these versions of how a classroom scenario might play out, but without actually having to have the classroom scenario follow a known script or a known trajectory."
-Justin Dimmel; Associate Professor at University of Maine; Advanced User for LessonDepict
