What moves you?
At the School of Kinesiology, you can never be too sure what someone is working on. Our community of world-class faculty, students, and staff are always pushing the boundaries of what it means to be Kines. Within and beyond the walls of the Kinesiology building, scholars are working on cutting-edge concussion research to better protect the brains of veterans, children, and domestic violence victims while down the hall students are learning from industry leaders about how to make sports stadiums more accessible and immersive to the fan experience. Students take this multidisciplinary mindset outside of the classroom as well, with students finding homes on the sports field or in the athletic training room, presenting research or working with youth in education.
Michigan Kinesiology is represented anywhere decisions are being made.
No matter the major or specialty, Kinesiology students and alumni are making serious moves. Our alumni go on to do many things - becoming thought leaders in sport, health and medicine, education and beyond. Our alumni are playing a role in shaping the ever-changing future of sports and medicine to keep athletes and elders alike healthy as they navigate challenging medical situations. Whether it be the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, operating rooms around the country, or a PE class near you, a Michigan Kinesiology alum is there.
The work we see being done today is due in large part to the foundations of the Physical Education program at the School of Kinesiology. At our core, we have always focused on finding innovative ways to create healthy and resilient communities through Physical Education. That origin has provided the school a solid foundation in which following generations have built upon and grown the school into what we see today, as well as what we hope it will grow further tomorrow.
With our growing and expanding school community, it is more important than ever to support and celebrate the Kinesiology community. To keep attracting and retaining these talented students scholarships, enrichment funds, emergency funds, and expendable discretionary aid are crucial to reducing the speed bumps that might get in the way of their end goals. These students are telling the story of Michigan Kinesiology across the globe and today we are raising support to match their energy.
To celebrate all gifts made today, the School of Kinesiology is sharing thanks to all gifts $100+ with a keepsake Kinesiology flag. Flags will be mailed 4-6 weeks after Giving Blueday.
Thanks to the Dean's Office, we are able to offer a $4,000 match. Make your gift early to see your impact doubled!
Join the movement, and give today.
