At Michigan Engineering, our students strive to challenge themselves, combine their strengths, and cross boundaries to serve as agents of change.
Together on #GivingBlueday we can make a difference in the lives of our young engineers.
Gifts to the Michigan Engineering Fund ensure the continuity of experiences that empower our students to lead and innovate. In the last year, the Michigan Engineering Fund provided $1.3 million in resources to:
Strategic Initiatives - 56%
Student Organizations and Teams - 26%
Student Scholarships - 18%
With funding from the MEF, BLUElab Sa’ Nima’ worked with prototyped a ventilated wood burning stove for families in San Cristobal, Guatemala. The new stoves significantly reduced emissions in homes. The team also created a portable washing machine to streamline the washing process and potentially provide the families with a source of income.
The Michigan Aeronautical Science Association (MASA) used MEF funding to build and launch their latest rocket, Clementine. Standing 20 feet tall and 10.5 inches in diameter, it is the largest rocket ever launched by a student team. Clementine reached a peak altitude of 8,000 feet, spending 40 seconds in flight.
In the last year, the College provided over $200,000 in need-and merit-based scholarships, with an average award of $13,000. This funding allows students to pursue experiences outside the classroom that complement their education and make a positive impact instead of working their way through college.
We invite you to make a gift to the Michigan Engineering Fund today. Every gift makes a difference in the lives of our students and the people they serve. Your gift will go to work immediately providing the resources that enable us to train the next generation of engineers who will find solutions to the challenges of tomorrow.
