Gifts to Synchronized Skating contribute to...
We are comprised of two teams with a total of 39 skaters that compete at both the Collegiate and Open Collegiate levels against colleges nationwide. Throughout the year, we participate in five major competitions, including the Midwestern Sectional Championships and the National Championships. Our collegiate team has achieved remarkable success, consistently medaling at Sectionals and Nationals and winning National Championships in 2020, 2017, and 2018.
Our organization is entirely student-run, with six board members elected annually. Every athlete has the opportunity to run for a board position or take on chair positions that are critical to our team, including clothing chair, social media chair, or philanthropy chair, ensuring that everyone plays a role in managing and advancing the organization.
We are immensely proud of our athletes' ability to balance rigorous coursework with their skating responsibilities. We continually strive to improve our skills and teamwork, aiming to excel at Sectional and National competitions. Beyond our competitive ambitions, we feel incredibly fortunate to pursue the sport we love while representing the University of Michigan.
We are seeking $5,000 in funds to contribute to our ice time payments.
For our members, on-ice practices are paramount to our training, and multiple hours on-ice per week are necessary to maintain a high quality of skating, and to excel in our performances in competitions and exhibitions. Our ice time is extremely valuable to us, for we use those practices to create choreography, increase our skills and abilities, and perfect our program to ensure a successful season. On top of productivity, the practices also serve as time for the student-athletes to come together and have the opportunity to exercise while spending time with others in the skating community.
If we reach our fundraising goal, the immediate impact will be a more cohesive and focused team, better prepared for the challenges of the competition season. Moreover, the benefits of reduced travel costs will extend beyond the current academic year. These investments will have a lasting effect by increasing our recruitment efforts and ensuring the long-term sustainability and success of our team.
