Gifts to Indian American Student Association contribute to...
The Michigan Indian-American Student Association is a student organization here at the University of Michigan. We donate over $15,000 to local charities every year as a result of the efforts of our dedicated board and club members. As a large organization made up of hundreds of students, we also hold many events throughout the year to allow our members to connect with each other and celebrate Indian culture and diversity. To keep our event inclusive and open to all IASA members, we did not charge a ticket or entry fee of any sort and covered the cost of all expenses of this event.
Our organization emphasized environmental sustainability and makes sure all utensils and plates used for events abide by the sustainability requirement as we only used compostable alternatives to usual plastic plates and utensils. Additionally, to further reduce waste, we work directly with caterers to package all of our food into our reusable bags while picking up the supplies to reduce the excess plastic wrapping.
We chose the Motts children hospital because of our commitment to charity and helping young children. We hope to raise funds and support for the children facing medical hardships.
