Gifts to Future Educators at the University of Michigan contribute to...
Future Educators at the University of Michigan is a new student organization this year. Our goal is to connect undergraduate students who are passionate about education and offer opportunities to socialize and build professional development skills. We are passionate about fostering a community among students who are interested in education and teaching. We have also hosted professional development sessions to help students be the best teachers they can be! Education is the basis of a strong society, and we are working to ensure that University of Michigan students can be leaders as teachers.
We are supporting the Marsal Education Student Scholarship Fund. These scholarships allow people who may have otherwise had financial barriers to study education and become teachers. As a country, we are experiencing a teacher shortage, and students are frequently discouraged from pursuing an education major to avoid student loan debt, especially in a field that is underpaid and underappreciated. Over 60% of teachers are saddled with student loan debt and spend much of their career repaying this debt. The University of Michigan Marsal Family School of Education is ranked as the second-best Education School, producing teachers who go on to become highly successful and desired employees. The Scholarships offered through the Marsal Education Student Scholarship Fund can help to reduce this burden on students, so they can focus on becoming the best teacher they can be!
