This Giving Tuesday, help us provide holiday gifts to 10 students through our Secret Sibling program. Many of our students, specifically those who have experienced the foster care system, were adopted/guardianized, or have incarcerated parents don’t have the ability to go home during the Christmas season. As a result these students move to temporary housing and spend the holidays alone. Additionally, these students do not receive gifts (even of things they need) and it leads to greater isolation and worries about less self-worth. Secret Sibling is a way of showing them that they are seen.
To clarify, Secret Sibling is similar to Secret Santa, but the students (who commonly already struggle with money) wouldn’t be tasked with buying the gifts, but selecting them for another student based on a wish list provided by the receiving student. And their budget will be $50 each. Help bring light to these students and give them a Merry Christmas.
