We are raising funds to support an educational trip to a historical site with United States Navy and Marine Corps significance where students will have the opportunity to explore important battlegrounds, gain a deeper understanding of military history, and honor American service members through deep reflection. This immersive experience will strengthen leadership, teamwork, and appreciation for sacrifice, inspiring the next generation to learn from history and uphold the legacy of courage and service.
The Wolverine Maritime Battalion prepares students to serve their country by commissioning as officers in the United States Navy and Marine Corps through a comprehensive program that includes physical training, leadership development, and warfare and STEM education. By supporting this trip, students will immerse themselves in history and enhance their readiness for future roles by learning from the historical significance at their location. This unique, firsthand experience deepens their understanding of sacrifice and leadership, enriching their education while reinforcing their commitment to honoring American heroes as they embark on their military careers. Last spring break, 8 members of the Wolverine Maritime Battalion traveled to Normandy for their trip. Some major highlights include walking along Omaha Beach and other significant sections of the coastline where D-Day unfolded, visiting the Normandy American Cemetery, and raising the flag in honor of the fallen, touring the U.S. Embassy, attending several World War II museums, and engaging in historical presentations and leadership exercises. This enriching experience served to deepen their understanding of history and reinforce their commitment to service. The Wolverine Maritime Battalion would like to ask you to please consider donating to our fundraiser.
