The Human Powered Submarine Team is a student led project team that provides engineers from all disciplines the opportunity to make one of the only human powered submarines in the world. A human powered submarine is a fully submerged submarine that is powered by a diver pedaling underwater. Because of the uniqueness of our project team, our engineers often push the envelope of what can be done and are the first in the world to develop the subsystems we do.
Because we will be competing in the International Submarine Races in Gosport, England, HPS will be paying to ship Marlin, our newest submarine, as well as team members internationally. This cost, in addition to our many material costs, will result in HPS spending a large sum of money.
