Who We Are:
Founded in 1999 as an Asian pop culture magazine, SHEI is an entirely student-run fashion and pop-culture publication at the University of Michigan, proudly affiliated with the Office of Student Publications. We publish a bi-annual print magazine, along with SHEI Digital, a monthly digital magazine.
Our Mission:
Our mission is to empower creative exploration by providing students with a place they can gain hands-on experience in all facets of magazine production in order to produce publications that embody avant-garde storytelling and contribute meaningful discourse in the space of fashion, art and culture.
Your donation allows us to…
Print our Magazine: Donations help us cover rising printing costs without compromising on the quality of our printed magazine. This allows us to also give out our magazines to the student body and the campus at large, free of charge.
Run SHEI Magazine as an organization: We believe every student across campus should have a place to gain experience in all avenues of magazine publication and production and SHEI Magazine provides just that, as we push the boundaries of what it means to be an on campus organization.
Access critical resources: SHEI Magazine distinguishes itself from other fashion publications as we center our work around editorial/narrative based fashion photoshoots. One of our core values as a publication is being timeless and not tied to a trend within the fashion cycle. For example, that has manifested in this semester’s print magazine centering its theme around critiquing harmful trends while championing the values of authenticity, sustainability, and self-expression.
Support SHEI Magazine. Support the future intersection of multidisciplinary fashion, arts, and business work.
