Who is Michigan Mock Trial?

Mock trial is just what it sounds like: simulated courtroom trials! Our team travels nationwide to compete against other universities in mock criminal and civil trials. We are very proud to be the #1 student-run team in the nation. Being student-run means that every accomplishment we have is completely our own… which this year included 28 individual awards and a 2nd-place trophy at nationals!

How does Michigan Mock Trial impact our community?

Michigan Mock Trial teaches students to become incredible public speakers, to do complex textual analysis, and to work collaboratively. Normally, it is very challenging for undergraduate students to find opportunities to learn about the justice system and foster their passion for the law. Therefore, Michigan Mock Trial takes pride in making the law accessible to all students. We hope to continue being the inspiration and launching point for many incredible careers in the legal industry and beyond.

Keeping the law accessible to all students, regardless of their background, is a founding principle of our team. That is why donors like you are so vital to keeping our team going! It takes around $35,000 a year to run our program. This money allows us to travel to tournaments, buy supplies for competitions, and provide financial aid so all of our teammates can compete. Any donation puts us one step closer to another national win.
