About

We did it! We are blown away by your support. Thank you for helping make the purchase of handheld water quality meters possible!

While our Giving Tuesday campaign has ended you can still support EARTH. Visit our main online giving site.

Students learn most when they’re out in the field collecting their own data. Handheld water quality meters will be used across multiple courses at Camp Davis, in Ann Arbor, and anywhere students want to understand their environment. Currently, we lack meters dedicated for classroom use, which means that many students miss out on the opportunity to collect and analyze water quality data in real time. We want all our environmental courses to have access to these tough and versatile instruments to help students develop real-world experience in environmental analysis! But they are an investment: each meter costs around $5,000.

Share your love for Camp Davis by making a gift to EARTH this Giving Tuesday! Gifts will help purchase handheld water quality meters for use at Camp Davis, around Ann Arbor, and wherever students are learning about their local environments.

These instruments will...

  • be used by students in courses at Camp Davis, in Ann Arbor, and in other field course settings
  • advance the Department's capacity to provide experiential learning in environmental sciences
  • contain student course fees by supplying key equipment
  • expand opportunities in undergraduate research

"The opportunity to participate in field experiences and generate real-world data at Camp Davis made me feel that I was contributing to tangible change through my studies. I now feel empowered to use the skills I learned during my time there to navigate my future work, both academic and professional." -Katherine Harpenau (LSA, Earth & Environmental Sciences, Class of 2024)
