The Army ROTC program at the University of Michigan, also known as the “Wolverine Battalion”, dedicates this Giving Tuesday campaign to our ruck team.
Our program is hoping to send a team of over twenty cadets (over a third of our program) to participate in the 2025 Bataan Memorial Death March and the Norwegian Foot March.
The annual Bataan Memorial Death March in White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico, is a grueling 26.2 (full marathon) ruck march at 35 lbs in the desert commemorating the allied combatants of WWII forced on the Bataan Death March after the fall of the Philippines.
The Norwegian Foot March is a challenging 18.6 mile ruck at 25 lbs for military and civilian personnel. It presents the opportunity to earn the coveted marsjmerket award that can be worn on Army uniforms if one finishes under a certain qualifying time. It has a history that dates back to Norway during WWI. The Norwegian Ruck March will be at Arden Hills Army Training Site, Minnesota, April 19th, 2025.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 to fully fund these trips.
This incredible training opportunity would not be possible without you.
Your support helps build a strong foundation of Army excellence for the leaders and best through tough and fun training that promotes camaraderie and honors the past. Your contributions develop the future leaders of our Army.
Let us continue to empower our cadets to be all they can be. Please contribute today.
GO ARMY, GO BLUE!
