• Provide scholarships for rising undergraduate and graduate students.
• Fund faculty and student research on pressing regional issues.
• Bring Southeast Asian scholars and partners to Ann Arbor for collaboration and training.
• Offer instruction in Filipino, Indonesian, Thai, and Vietnamese, keeping these languages thriving at U-M.
• Expand community outreach through cultural programs like wayang (shadow puppet shows), Indonesian gamelan, and Philippine rondalla.

We continue offering hybrid programming, allowing our Ann Arbor community and wider community to engage in discussions about Southeast Asia. Your contributions help us bring distinguished scholars on Southeast Asian studies from all over the world to Michigan, enriching dialogues on history, human rights, and policy in the region.

Through your generosity, we have also revitalized in-person cultural performances, such as Indonesian Gamelan, as well as Philippine Rondalla and Kulintang. These events showcase the rich musical traditions of maritime Southeast Asia, connecting Ann Arbor and the Midwest to this vibrant region.

The SEA Studies Graduate Student Support (309966) provides support for graduate education and research, including tuition and travel for graduate students in SEA Studies.
