CENTER FOR LATIN AMERICAN AND CARIBBEAN STUDIES (LACS) STRATEGIC FUND-303654
The U-M Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies is the main hub on campus for students, faculty, and community members who study the region and its diverse languages, cultures, histories, and peoples.
Our contribution to the University of Michigan community goes well beyond conferring degrees and certificates. We mentor student groups, organize events, support visiting scholars, and host artists and performers. We lobby for the hiring of faculty with a scholarly interest in Latin America and the Caribbean and encourage departments and schools to design and schedule courses with a strong focus on our region. As a National Resource Center, we partner with K-12 teachers, Hispanic-serving institutions, and governmental agencies from Detroit, Michigan and San Diego, California to San Juan, Puerto Rico and Tijuana, Mexico to ensure that our programming reaches far beyond our campus as well.
If you are considering a gift to LACS, we want you to know that your donation will help us guarantee that U-M students will have an opportunity, in perpetuity, to study Latin America and the Caribbean and to contribute to scholarship and involvement in the region. There is no donation too small. Every dollar makes a difference!
