After years of growing, learning, and leading from inside the University of Michigan’s Prison Creative Arts Project, the Linkage Community is stepping into a new chapter. We’re officially launching as an independent organization—and we want YOU with us!

Together, we’ve created something rare: not just a support group, not just a reentry service, but a statewide creative network rooted in dignity, expression, and real connection.

This is our graduation.
This is our launch.
And this is your invitation—not just to the celebration, but to the movement

The Linkage Community is a collective of powerhouse creatives with lived experience of incarceration. Their work is rooted not in what they’ve survived, but in what they imagine, build, and share—a network shaped by creativity, community, and care. Now, we’re expanding the ways we support each other and grow together.

That takes resources! And that’s where you come in.

Your gift helps us:

• Break down barriers by covering travel expenses to events so geography doesn’t get in the way of participation.

• Welcome artists returning from prison with warmth, a creative circle, and a supportive community from day one.

• Support digital access with coaching that empowers members to navigate smartphones, online applications, Zoom, and social media.

• Create connections with in-person and virtual gatherings where members laugh, decompress, and build together.

• Amplify creativity by digitizing artwork, building portfolios, hosting public events, and opening doors to paid opportunities and public platforms.
