Your gift helps The Michigan Daily continue producing award-winning student journalism while also adapting to changes in the field.
This annual project brings together the student media organizations at the University of Michigan and Ohio State University.
This is the sixth year The Michigan Daily & The Lantern have worked to co-publish the Rivalry Edition in print and a shared website, while engaging in a friendly fundraising competition. There are no losers in this competition as each student media organization keeps the funds they raise. With your help, the Daily can have bragging rights for the year if we come out ahead at noon Saturday, November 30th.
The Michigan Daily Program Fund is the primary funding source for post-season sports coverage travel, arts travel, annual subscriptions, organizational memberships, contest entry fees, photo equipment, technology needs, and expenses for additional annual projects coordinated by Michigan Daily student staff.
Past support has allowed our students to:
- Travel to cover the Rose Bowl and National Championship
- Travel and lodging for coverage of the Sundance Film Festival and SXSW
- Purchase new photo equipment to increase coverage of events
- Be reimbursed for movie tickets for Daily Arts reviews
- Experience a helicopter ride to update aerial stock photography
- Enter state-wide and national journalism contests
- Host campus and community events to increase awareness of The Michigan Daily
- So much more!
